The Beverly Levy Early Learning Center (BLELC) at the JCC of Greater New Haven, provides high quality programs for children ages three months through Pre-K in a supportive, nurturing environment that promotes their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
The Early Childhood Education Director is responsible for overseeing the staff and day-to-day operations of the Early Learning Center. The Director will organize, coordinate and maintain the center and its programs for students to learn in a nurturing and caring environment. The Director must be able to interact with children and parents on a day-to-day basis and should be able to deal with unexpected situations that pertain to students, parents, staff. The Director is a member of the JCC programming staff and will work cooperatively with other departments in the course of their duties.
The Director will engage regularly with the State of Connecticut, NAEYC and other licensing and regulatory agencies. Performs related work as required.
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Management or related field from an accredited college, preferably a NAEYC accredited program
- Over five (5) years of preschool work experience or any equivalent acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
- Directors Certificate with State of Connecticut Office of Early Childhood.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license at the time of appointment.
