Pour your cup of coffee and connect with local artists from the comfort of your own home. Send your questions in advance or ask live during the 30 minute sessions. Register in advance and we'll see you soon!

Artist Description: Anne Doris-Eisner is a painter whose works have been exhibited in many solo, group and juried shows in Connecticut and around the country.  In recent years Anne has exhibited, among other venues, at: Providence Art Club (Providence, RI, First Prize); Limner Gallery (Hudson, NY); the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition; First Street Gallery (NY); Kraft Center for Jewish Life at Columbia University; Curtis Gallery of the New Canaan Library; New Britain Museum of American Art; Housatonic Museum of Art; Kehler Liddell Gallery (CT); Westport Arts Center; Mystic Arts Center; Drawing Rooms Gallery (NJ); the Beverly Arts Center of Chicago (IL); American Jewish University (CA); The Women’s Museum (TX); the Rubin-Frankel Gallery (MA); and twice at the Verum Ultimum Art Gallery (OR).

Anne works almost exclusively on paper because of the immediacy and physicality of mark-making on that medium.  Anne enjoys working with large sheets and most often uses non-traditional tools found in nature, such as feather, twig and bone, to capture the resilience and transformative beauty of the natural world and its expression of our capacity for resilience, defiance and renewal.

Anne studied art at the University of Miami and earned a B.A. and M.A. in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State University.  Anne was a distinguished art educator for many years, including winning the Joseph B. Whitehead Educator of Distinction Award, presented by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation; the University of Connecticut Alumni Association High School Teaching Award for Exemplary Dedication to the Field of Education; and the Amity Regional District’s Teacher of the Year Award.

Anne’s continued study of art has led her to two residencies at the Atlin Art Centre, in far northern British Columbia, and two residencies at the renowned Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont.  Anne is a past president of the Women’s Caucus for Art, CT and has for many years been the on the Board and Secretary of the venerable New Haven Paint and Clay Club.
