A 65% increase in aliyah from Brazil was recorded during 2016, according to early estimates from the Federation-funded Jewish Agency for Israel. Increases in numbers of olim were also noted from Belarus and South Africa.

Russia was the top country for aliyah in 2016 with 7,000 olim, according to early estimates from the Federation-funded Jewish Agency for Israel. Rounding out the top 4 for the third year in a row are Ukraine (5,500), France (5,000) and the U.S. (2,900).
