Join author Elizabeth Edelglass as she discusses a few selections, including her own, from Frankly Feminist: Short Stories by Jewish Women from Lilith Magazine.
"These fictions offer variegated cultures, contexts and points of view: Persian Jews; a Biblical matriarch; an Ethiopian mother in modern Israel; suburban American teens; Eastern European academics" among others as they explore "deepening connections, political turmoil... struggles with body and soul, with finding community, with decoding family life" and other topics in Jewish women's lives. - Lilith Magazine
Elizabeth Edelglass writes fiction and poetry in response to today's world. Her work has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, and her short fiction has won the Reynolds Price Fiction Prize, the William Saroyan Centennial Prize, the Lilith short story contest, and the Lawrence Foundation Prize from Michigan Quarterly Review. Director of the Jewish Community Library at the JCC, her book reviews regularly appear in Hadassah Magazine.
