JEWEL Society is for the moms of PJ Library in Greater New Haven!
JEWEL Society was formed in 2023 to encourage support for the activities of PJ Library and engage a new generation of future leaders. “JEWEL” is an acronym for “Jewish Women Emerging Leaders,” selected by the founders to embody the philanthropic endeavor of our valued members who are taking personal responsibility for the continuity of Jewish identity in our community.
JEWEL Society consists of mothers of PJ Library recipients who support the community through an annual commitment of $118+ to the Annual Campaign for Jewish Needs. An annual gift allows us to reach the families of more than 800 children from birth to 12 years old, enriching their lives with Jewish books, local family programming and outreach.
JEWEL Society members directly support the community of over 800 local children receiving PJ Library books as well as building a strong a thriving Jewish community. And JEWEL isn’t just about giving—it’s about growing together. Members are invited to exclusive social events, community-building opportunities, and special moments of celebration.
“As the new chair of JEWEL Society, I am deeply honored to continue our mission of supporting Jewish women in philanthropic aspirations, encouraging meaningful connections, and strengthening our community through community events and family educational programs such as PJ Library. With a background in counseling, marketing, and Jewish women’s leadership, I am looking forward to fostering connections, building our philanthropic impact, and creating positive change together.” Jodi Williams, JEWEL Society Chair
