Ways to Support the Greater New Haven Jewish Community

The Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven uses the power of the collective to help Jews in need and to build vibrant Jewish communities in Greater New Haven, Israel and in 70 countries throughout the world.

With your generous support, we ensure that there is quality Jewish education for our community’s children, engaging programs for young Jewish adults, connections to services that allow our community’s senior adults to maintain their independence and their Jewish identity and the infrastructure to help Jews in times of crisis.

There are many ways you can help. Click the links below to learn more about each, or contact our Development team to have a conversation about the philanthropic opportunities available to you.

  • Annual Campaign for Community Needs

Make a gift that makes a difference. Your generous support will help feed hungry families, build housing for adults with disabilities, send disadvantaged kids to summer camp and so much more.

  • Israel Emergency Fund

The Greater New Haven Jewish Federation has established the Israel Emergency Fund following unprovoked, multi-front attacks on Israel during Shabbat and the Sukkot/Simchat Torah holiday. Federation is in close contact with our overseas partners and we anticipate an unprecedented need for cash to assist victims of terror and their families.

Join a Giving Society

More than a number, with the contribution you make to Federation you can enter into a Society that denotes your commitment to Jewish philanthropy and honors that commitment with access to exclusive speaker events and educational opportunities with like-minded members of the community.

  • JEWEL Society

With gifts to PJ Library, JEWEL Society members take the lead in ensuring a vibrant Jewish community in Greater New Haven for generations to come. • Sabra Society

Women who give a gift of $365 (a dollar a day) to the Annual Campaign, up to $1,799 annually, are members of our Sabra Society. The Sabra is a symbol of the native Israeli – tough on the outside and sweet on the inside.

  • Pomegranate Society

The Pomegranate honors all women who make a personal gift of $1,800-$4,999 to the Annual Campaign. These women can show their commitment with a sterling silver Pomegranate pin.

  • Lion of Judah

A gift of $5,000 or more to the Annual Campaign earns the distinction of the Lion of Judah. The Lion of Judah pin is worn by 17,500 women worldwide, symbolizing dedication to the Jewish community.
