CMI's annual Pride Shabbat service celebrates our LGBTQ+ members and affirms that all people are created B’tzelem Elohim, in the image of God. The service will be led by members of our community with special readings and prayers along with Rabbi Immerman and Cantor Giglio.

Our speaker will be Rabbi Nikki DeBlosi, whose sermon, “Inclusion must be proactive, not reactive," will speak about her personal and professional experience in the world of LGBTQ+ inclusion. Named one of America’s Most Inspiring Rabbis by the Jewish daily Forward, Rabbi Nikki combines a high-level academic background with an approachable, pastoral presence. She connects folks to the breadth and depth of Jewish tradition through inclusive, innovative and insightful Jewish teaching, speaking and ritual.

Rabbi Nikki DeBlosi, PhD, is a freelance rabbi with years of experience in the Hillel world. She brings her expertise in queer theory and community, along with an approachable presence, to her teaching. Raised in a Catholic home in a Boston suburb, Rabbi Nikki converted to Judaism as an adult. She holds a BA summa cum laude in Women’s Studies from Harvard University, an MA and a PhD in Performance Studies from New York University, and an MA in Hebrew Language and Letters and rabbinic semikha (ordination) from the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion. She’s an avid reader, a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and a sometimes choral singer.
