Matthew Dicks, 30-time Moth StorySLAM champion, returns to the JCC of Greater New Haven for a storytelling workshop! Join us for a day of detailed instruction, explanation, and stories that will make you laugh and maybe even cry. Matthew Dicks’ storytelling workshop focuses on exercises that assist individuals in creating stories from daily experiences while providing constructive feedback to refine storytelling skills. His workshops also prepare individuals for speaking and storytelling in a wide variety of environments.

The storytelling workshop is designed to engage participants who wish to practice storytelling, but also to welcome those who prefer to listen to storytellers, or even to improve general public speaking skills. This low-stakes, safe, and inviting atmosphere welcomes all who are interested in the art of storytelling.

Matthew Dicks is an expert in storytelling, a bestselling author, and contributor to This American Life, TED, and much more. He is also the co-founder and creative director of Speak Up.
