This year, the High Holy Day exhibit, curated by the BEKI Art Committee, features pre-1950 photographs and artwork portraying participants’ ancestors. The exhibit reveals fascinating stories of the extraordinary and mundane experiences of those who helped form future generations.

The exhibit has motivated BEKI members to rediscover old photos, many of which have long been hidden away, and others whose stories have not been told for too long. At least 40 members are contributing images of ancestors, some which date as far back as the 1880s, along with information on their identities and the lives they lived.

The exhibit will be on display from September 2 to November 7.

Please note that all events offered by the Jewish Federation, Foundation, and JCC of Greater New Haven may include photography.
