Congregation Welcomes New Cantor with Service

Temple Beth Tikvah recently celebrated the installation of their new Cantor Mark Stanton. At the music-filled event, the congregation was honored to host installation speaker, Rabbi Peter Grumbacher who partnered with Cantor Stanton at Congregation Beth Emeth in Wilmington, Delaware.

Rabbi Grumbacher called Cantor Stanton, “a man with a deep soul and a beautiful voice.” Rabbi Grumbacher spoke on the subject, “From the Words of Leonard Bernstein.” This special Shabbat service spotlighted many different musical combinations from different parts of the shoreline community including: Cantor Dorothy Goldberg, Rick Calvert, Walter Stutzman, Stu Weinzimer, Jodie Ambrozino, members of the TBT Adult Choir and a young new talent, Natalie Houlton.

Cantor Stanton grew up in Flushing, Queens, and received his Bachelor of Music in 1993 at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music. He was ordained as a cantor in 2004 at the Academy for Jewish Religion.
