What Do You Want to Do Jewishly and How Can We Help?

In 2016, the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven distributed over $2.3 million to charitable organizations, of which, $1.9 million was distributed to local Jewish organizations—our synagogues, the Jewish Federation, for Jews in need and Jewish Family Service, the Jewish Historical Society, the Jewish Cemetery Association, for the frail and elderly and the Towers, Ezra Academy, Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy, Hebrew High School of New England, the Jewish HS of CT, Camp Laurelwood and the JCC, BBYO, the ADL, for the Jewish Scholarship Initiative, PJ Library and for Jewish education (See the infographic below as well as our most recent Annual Report for more information).

We continue to grow. We continue to fund Jewish New Haven. We continue to be a philanthropic and endowment resource; a partner for our synagogues and agencies, for professional advisers, for individual donors, families, foundations, and for the community. How do we accomplish all this? Through our Create a Jewish Legacy New Haven initiative, our restricted funds, our partner organization (custodial) funds, as well as our Donor Advised Fund program. In a multitude of ways, we counsel individuals and facilitate family discussions to assist donors in their philanthropy and planned giving, concurrently educating them on local needs and impact.
